Recipe: Air Fryer Shredded BBQ Tofu (2 Ingredients, Vegan, Oil Free)


My air fryer shredded bbq tofu is made using only 2 ingredients: extra firm tofu and barbecue sauce. Shredded barbecue tofu is easy to throw together and is ready in the air fryer in as little as 10 minutes! Enjoy it as a filling for delicious sandwiches, wraps, sloppy joes, or tacos!

Air Fryer Shredded BBQ Tofu (2 Ingredients, Vegan, Oil Free)

Ingredients

  • 1 block extra firm tofu
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce

Directions

  1. Shred tofu using a box grater, and add to a large bowl.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of the bbq sauce and start mixing.
  3. Add the remaining 1/4 cup of the bbq sauce and mix thoroughly until the tofu is completely coated in sauce.
  4. Add the tofu to the air fryer in a thin layer at 400F for 5 minutes.*see note
  5. Flip the tofu and air fry another 5 minutes.
  6. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a firmer and crispier texture, air fry for longer to achieve desired consistency.
  • Enjoy shredded bbq tofu as a filling for delicious sandwiches, wraps, sloppy joes, or tacos!
