We typically snack on fruit, veggies, and homemade snacks, but it’s nice to have packaged vegan treats from time to time. These treats are great options when you’re on the go or want to try something different. Packaged vegan snacks are also great for Halloween night treat swaps!

Veggie Go Strips – Berry Apple + Spinach

Veggie Go Strips are made from organic fruit and vegetable purees. We really liked the flavour of these, but also found them to be quite sticky. They are a fun treat for Ryerden (our son), and he’ll be getting a couple of these on Halloween night for sure!
Ingredients | Allergen Info | Serving | Calories |
organic fruit and vegetable puree: apple, spinach, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, sweet potato, cranberry | According to their website: “Veggie Go Strips are produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility in a dedicated allergen free room on dedicated allergen free equipment.” | 1 strip 12g | 15 |
PRESSED by KIND Apple Chia Strawberry Fruit Bar

The Apple Chia Strawberry bars from Pressed by KIND are very tasty! They also have a somewhat sticky texture, but not enough to be bothersome. The KIND bars are made from dried fruit and chia seeds, and I love the simple whole food ingredients pressed into a bar. They are a more substantial snack; and we all really enjoy having these fruit and seed bars from time to time.
Ingredients | Allergen Info | Serving | Calories |
dried fruit: apple, strawberry, cherry & chia seeds | may contain nuts, sesame, soy & pits According to their website: “All KIND Healthy Snacks are gluten-free. Our products are tested for gluten and meet the CFIA’s proposed requirement of 20ppm (0.002%) of gluten.” | 1 bar 35 g | 110 |
TreatSmart Vegan Bites

We usually make our own energy bites, but the Vegan Bites from TreatSmart are a great whole food option. They contain: dates, almonds, coconut, and quinoa. These bites were Chris’s (my husband’s) favourite snack of the bunch, and we all enjoyed them. Ryerden says they taste like chocolate even though they do not contain cocoa or chocolate in them.
Ingredients | Allergen Info | Serving | Calories |
dates, almonds, coconut, quinoa crisp | contains almonds and tree nuts | 4 bites 50g | 180 |
LÄRABAR – Blueberry

We love LÄRABARs, but had never seen this particular flavour in stores before. We were excited to try out the Blueberry LÄRABAR! The blend of cashews, fruit, and vanilla was surprisingly delicious. We all enjoyed this bar…even more than I thought we would.
Ingredients | Allergen Info | Serving | Calories |
cashews, dates, dried apples, dried blueberries, blueberry powder, vanilla | contains cashews | 1 bar 45g | 190 |

LÄRABAR – Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
We have enjoyed the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip LÄRABARs in the past, but hadn’t had one in a long time. We were not disappointed when testing it again! It is a very peanut-buttery bar with a yummy hint of chocolatey flavour. This bar is my personal favourite!
Ingredients | Allergen Info | Serving | Calories |
dates, peanut butter, semisweet chocolate chips, roasted peanuts | contains peanuts | 1 bar 45g | 210 |
Theobroma Chocolat – 90% Dark Chocolate Stick

The Theobroma Chocolat 90% Dark Chocolate was quite bitter and reminiscent of baking chocolate. In fairness, I think the flavour was partially impacted by the previous treat we tried (the peanut butter chocolate LÄRABAR). We all liked this dark chocolate, but it was not our favourite since it was so dark. I did try this one again along with a cup of coffee, and it was quite nice. If you are a fan of very dark chocolate, I would highly recommend it. I’d be curious to try other vegan bars from Theobroma.
Ingredients | Allergen Info | Serving | Calories |
cocoa mass, cane sugar, cocoa butter | may contain almond, coconut, soybean & milk | 1 stick 35g | 200 |
Enjoy Life Chocolaty Bar – Dark

We have tried the Enjoy Life chocolates in the past. They often come out with packages of individually wrapped chocolates around Halloween and during the Christmas season. We thoroughly enjoy the Enjoy Life chocolates, and as an added bonus, they are school-safe and extremely allergen friendly. Ryerden even said this chocolate bar was his favourite treat ever!
Ingredients | Allergen Info | Serving | Calories |
brown sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter | made in a nut & gluten free facility. free from wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, casein, soy, egg, sesame, sulfites, lupin, mustard, fish, shellfish, crustaceans | 1 bar 32g | 180 |
